Cosplay Goddess Alodia to be in WoW movie

Good News!

Cosplay Goddess Alodia to be in WoW movie: "

In my opinion, Japanator's been long overdue for a post about the Cosplay Goddess Alodia, who has been making waves in the international Cosplay scene with her amazing cosplay crafting talents. If you've never heard of her, you may have seen her cosplay across the internet and she's done some guest blogging on Danny Choo's blog.

Recently, Alodia went over to Legendary Pictures and met with the studio bigwigs so she can be in the upcoming World of Warcraft movie. Further details on her involvement in the film aren't available yet but this makes me excited to see a talented cosplay artist like her break into the mainstream geek culture.

Interestingly enough, Alodia's involvement with the World of Warcraft movie all began when documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, 30 Days), recommended her to the folks over at Legendary Pictures. Spurlock was filming Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope, a documentary about the lives of five people involved in the recent San Diego Comic Con for Legendary Pictures, where Alodia is among the featured people.

Now, I'm not a fan of World of Warcraft and have avoided it like the plague and yaoi, but with somebody like Alodia, who I've been following since I first saw her (and her sister's) great cosplay work in 2004 in a Filipino anime magazine Culture Crash (which I still have a copy of-- OMG PLEASE SIGN MY COPY, ALODIA!), I may change my mind. It's just amazing how far she has come in this new Web 2.0 world.
